This is a fast hard Waterstone that leaves a silky edge. Not many 4000 grit stones will raise a burr but this one does, it’s a race car of a stone. With this stone, you start striking the sharp potential of your Japanese knife and make your European knives smooooth. Always flatten your stone with a after honing.

When to use this stone

• Fine polishing stone probably needs a progression from a medium stone or a somewhat sharp edge to start.
  
• Excellent for daily/weekly touch-ups for all-purpose knives.
